Unlink from Steam account - help

Hello GGG,
I am writing here because I cannot find any information anywhere else on how and where to unlink my Steam account. Recently, I have been thinking of coming back to Path of Exile especially with the recent release of POE2 in early access. My POE acc is linked to a Steam account that I no longer have access in. That was when I bought a blood guardian set via Steam. I have no problem in logging on my Path of Exile on the standalone client, as I still have access to everything related to the POE acc. I wish to link my POE acc to a new Steam account because I have around $100 worth in my Steam wallet, and would like to purchase MTX in the future. This account will be my main Steam account. provided quick info to support@grindinggear.com which I figure the account unlinking is a seamless and easy process, since I had a look at older threads dating back from 2015-2016 in which the outcomes were fast (2 hours max). putting off the easier ones will only create a bigger backlog.
