Corpse explosion (foe)
TLDR: Please timeout foe corpse explosion mechanism to a few seconds after corpse creation.
Since 79+ level maps(XIV+) I'm getting deleted by corpse explosion or similar cast be white mobs, this assuming my char can tank most yellow and bosses spikes. I'm use to the on death effects and care to move away after the killing. I understand this can generate an insecurity but well not fun because I can't distinguish which effect is deadly if I can even see it ... BUT what really piss me of is (mainly since 79+ area level): - I fought my way and won over leaving this sea of corpses at my feet (after caring of on death etc...) - I move on evaluate the new, it's dangerous, I back to this previous ground I won and made a safe heaven handling the next steroid rare will jump on me. - This F****** white mob I have not even saw did aggro me from (far) beyond the screen now cast in 1 sec max a corpse mechanism I do not even distinguish at my feet and delete me. I mean full life with defense mechanisms up to zero. I need the replay to see the mob in question and understand what happened. My conclusion is I could never have distinguished it in time under the other effects. I think the on death effect is a topic on its all has yet to be tuned to be engaging yet not a painful experience. But whish to add on top corpses should definitely have a timeout like 3 seconds after which they cannot anymore be part of a damage corpse mechanism. Making the ground we won a safe spot to take the fight is a basic should be reliable. Unless we are back to the zoom zoom poe 1 fiesta always rushing forward deleting everything on path avoiding all threats. Last bumped on Jan 24, 2025, 5:31:22 PM

It happened to me with a Faridun Plaguebringer in the Augury. I didn't realize I was in a combat situation, I simply got offscreened.
There is technically a red glow before the spell but I don't look at my character when I'm entering a new area, I'm looking for mobs. It would be nice if I could see mobs before they kill me! I could bring detonate dead or something and clean up corpses, or I could go wash dishes. |

yes detonate dead would do the cleaning but what a nightmare in terms of QoL (+full int based not my type). I wish for an automatic dishwasher please.
And yes saw the red glow on the replay I analyzed. Frame I'm full life it's yet hardly noticeable, next frame 0HP yes it's obvious and shiny now. Even on replay I did need the shiny post death explosion effect to identify the traces of the precursor cast as not part of something else. |

Corpse explosion on rares just need to be remove completely.
It's honestly killing 90% of my maps. Like who is this for? It's just a major FU to the player, you play carefully and then *boom* *boom* *dead* from some monster that was around the corner and not even visible. Absolute dog shit. |

Wanting to add the corpse explosion discussion. Was running a decently high end map, cruising through it. Was very near the end when I was doing one of the last Rituals before killing the final rare. Partway through the ritual with a large number of corpses under my feet and no where to go. I simply exploded. Looking around after the fact it was a corpse explosion mob that appeared to do it. Just spawned in and one tapped me out of no where. Nothing else on the map was even close to hitting as hard as standing on that pile of corpses with no where to run. :(

Absolutely dogshit mechanic. Basically all on death / insta-kill bullshit needs to go I’m 12 days in via playtime and just can’t be fucked anymore. It’s now just 1-0.5 step forward, 3-5 back. All because of some bullshit I couldn’t see or lag when opening a breach |

Agreed.
If animation time was slightly increased it would be a bit more reasonable, but as it stands it triggers too quickly and does too much damage. |
