Item drops dissapearing

I beat the act one boss and initially what dropped was:
Regal orb
Rare attuned wand
Magic oak great hammer, embossed boots, pelt mantle

I quickly clicked the regal orb, but all the other drops quickly started disappearing.

I ended up with the regal orb, mantle, and great hammer.

Is this because I had +30 rarity of items found?
I would like to know how this is suppose to work in game since it matters to me.
Thank goodness I clicked on the regal orb while it still existed.
I only have a couple of these and crafting depends almost entirely on currency.

I can't provide exact info since I haven't touched EA, but based on PoE 1 settings, you disabled the "Always Highlight" setting. With the setting disabled, items will be shown for a short time after dropping--after that time passes, they'll show when moused over or when you hold Alt (unless you changed that keybind).

There should be a keybind for toggling the "Always Highlight" setting on/off (default for PoE1 is Z), or it can be set in one of the options tabs.
