Zone size and lack of quest indicators are unbearable on multiple play throughs
Zones need to be 30%-50% smaller, and quest indicators & zone exit/entrances need to show on the mini map from a significant distance.
On my first play through it was annoying how easy it was to miss an objective, which would then require me to circle the massive map 2-3 times over to find what was missed, but since it was my first playthrough I pushed through and still generally enjoyed the campaign despite that issue. On my second play through it is completely unbearable. I don't think I'll make it past 2 characters in POE2 if this doesn't change, which sucks because I'd like to play more classes. This problem is very bad in the campaign, back tracking to every nook and cranny to find that one thing we missed is not enjoyable or engaging gameplay. The problem also persists to mapping, where the back tracking to the far reaches of the map to get that 1 or 2 missed rares feels awful, and it is a very common occurrence that takes the enjoyment out of mapping. Solution 1: reduce zone sizes by a large margin, I would suggest at least say 30%-50% for most zones. Solution 2: Make objectives and zone entrances/exits in the campaign light up on the minimap once you are two+ screen distances away from them. In maps, the same should apply to rare monsters during the mapping, not just at the end of the map when you get a pity indicator (not to mention 20% of the time I can't even tell a rare mob is a rare mob because it looks exactly like a normal mob unless it has certain mods which make it stand out). Solution 3: some map layouts need to be completely reworked or removed, such as Augury. Last bumped on Dec 22, 2024, 2:23:52 PM
