Some things that bothered me
Hi. I'll get right to my points
1. The leveling is a slog I understand why this is done that way. It gives you ample time to experiment with and mold your build however you want it to feel. It allows you to familiarize yourself with the slower pacing of PoE2. However, I cannot see myself going through this experience more than 2 or 3 times. Campaign maps are way too big for the move speed of your character, which feels bad. You don't want to be in the same map for more than 10 mins I would say, but that is the experience I got almost always during campaign. I think what feels really bad about this is the contrast between your endgame character and starting a new character fresh. I get doing this experience once, but more than that is just torture. 2. Attack skills being hard bound to specific weapon types feels bad Just take an example. Unique weapons. Unique weapons may give some interesting effects to your characters which cannot be found anywhere else. Cool. You are now forced to play that specific unique weapon with very specific attacks, potentially forced to play with a specific one for efficiency because that weapon works specifically well with that, or that skill is just clearly above the others for whatever reason. Well congrats, you defeated the build diversity that could have existed with this small change. I think it is, to the core, a good idea that makes sense. It will allow you to balance and make new skills / items easier. However, this is currently too extreme in my opinion, and your builds will ultimately be shoehorned into very specific skills based on your martial weapon. Which, spells don't have this limit either by the way. Some of those skills could just not be bound to weapon type. I get you maybe want slam skills to be mace-specific. Fine, makes sense. But, we also have falling thunder, a slam quarterstaff skill that looks like it could just be used with any weapon type, yet it isn't. Some combo skills should remain quarterstaff only, because it just wouldn't make sense to use a mace that way. Frozen Locus? Why is that quarterstaff only? You get the point. I just think it's a shame to limit build diversity this way. 3. There needs to be a way to do deterministic crafting I'm not thinking something as important as the crafting bench is in PoE. Just something small. As it is, the crafting is just too RNG. You will get hundreds of base items to craft without any upgrade in endgame. That just feels bad. You don't want to spend your exalts on a rare item with 3 ok mods because they're too rare and unlikely to give what you want. Nothing feels worse than trying to craft and just get nothing for it. Anyway that's just my opinion as someone who hasn't looked at what others have said. Thanks for your time.
