Local Co-Op cannot go from Act 2 to Act 3 (Cruel difficulty)

One character has already unlocked maps
One character is still going through Cruel campaign difficulty on Act 2
Doing local co-op and beating Act 2 puts us in a weird quest-less state that cannot progress to Act 3.
Presumably because 1 character can only see the time portal version of the Ziggurat Encampment, but we are not able to continue the Cruel campaign together with my character that has already unlocked maps?

We attempted to port to a party member who was in act3 (cruel) in the ziggurat(present) but we ended up inside of the world unable to move. Screenshot attached.



Any advice or workarounds would be great, thanks!

i am too having the same issue. trying to figure out a way to continue but im not sure that i can.

Same issue. Tried to play couch coop, one of my characters has completed a3 Cruel, the other has not. Character position does not seem to change anything. Standing at the waypoint and clicking on a3 cruel brings up and empty map with no waypoints.

Cannot progress in Couch coop, works fine in Singleplayer.

I have the same issue that cannot go into Cruel ACT 3 when playing in couch coop.
Hope this bug can be fixed as soon as possible.

SOLUTION FOUND:

I ran into this problem while playing with my wife. I took my high level char that I was leveling her with and logged in. On my character I made sure that I used a waypoint to go to the original (present) version of ziggurat to make sure we were in the same timeline. After exiting back to character select and loading us both back in we were allowed to continue with her campaign! Hope this helps!
