Act 3 Normal Waypoint ceases to work

Loving the game so far, but found an annoying bug:

My character Razekal has completed the main campaign and a couple maps. I was in Act 3 normal and went through the Portal to the Past thinking it'd take me to the endgame hub but instead ended up in Act 1 Cruel - this part's on me I wasn't paying attention

The issue though is when I used a portal back to town, arriving in Act 3 Normal again, the waypoint does not function. I had to clear through The Riverbank again to get to a working Waypoint
