Bricking chracters to have no skills

This is my second time bricking my lvl 55 witch.

I swapped for some better gear but didn't notice it had an essential ~14 Int.

I can't use any of my skills. It is extremely demoralizing.

So now I need to pray I can buy some random gear to replace it.

If I cannot find something to buy that will help me out then I'm doomed. Replacing points won't work. If I get enough INT to have my skills back I'll lose ALL my other gear without the STR/DEX (which may cause me to lose more INT)

I've never seen a mechanic like this. In most games you would encourage a player to solve the problem by playing more. But this situation brick walls a player from playing more to solve the problem and forces them to try to solve it with desperate online searches for gear to get the needed stats.

This can easily be a game quitter for me and I've seen others say the same.

I really like this game and this is my only problem with it. I understand making gear dependent on stats. You can live without 1 piece of gear if you don't have the stats and you can still play the game. You cannot do that if all your skills are gone.

I suggest that skills should not be dependent upon stats.
