Activated Key on Steam / Account Does Not Have Access

-Someone gave me a key.
-I created an account online and redeemed the key.
-I used the Steam key on Steam, allowing me to download the game.
-I was not able to log in / it says I do not have a key...

I think I played PoE1 a little bit way back, so my Steam must already have an account connected... and I shouldn't have made a new account? Because now I have a key activated for a fresh account, and a key activated on Steam, but they're for separate accounts maybe?

What do I do?

Nevermind figured it out. IDK how to delete this though.
