Not everyone knows the POE1 league mechanics

Delirium, Breach, Expedition, etc. These are just shoved into maps with absolutely no explanation of what they are or how they work.

POE1 veterans will know them but POE2 is bound to bring a lot of new players on board and I think it's bad design to just assume everyone knows all these mechanics.

Endgame was a rush job but we knew that. We have to give them time. I completely agree that better onboarding for the endgame as a whole is necessary. I think their aim was to provide as much of an endgame experience as they could possibly muster in the last 4-5 months and we are seeing the problems with that approach. Overall, it was probably the right decision? Very few people would replay the campaign even if it was 6 acts as planned for EA launch if there was zero endgame behind it. Tough call to make imo.
It's not being assumed at all as these mechanics and especially Delirium work quite a bit differently than the PoE1 version. You don't need any knowledge of them from PoE1 to figure them out.

In some cases PoE11 knowledge will even hold back. To give an example, in PoE1 players tend to minmax magic monsters for breach but in PoE2 that's pretty bad.
I think an overview or quick video like they have for skills would go a long way. I played just enough poe1 to get it but they aren't really that complex. I'd be confused if I saw expedition
They are literally explained in the reveal livestream by Mark. They can go watch that then go back in.
