Bought a friend a code

I brought a friend a early access code..
He linked is stream account and used the code to download the game.. but when try trys to play it says he doesn't have early access. He restarted his pc and steam with no luck... I reach out to support a few days ago and have not heard back.. any help would be awesome thanks
