Game is forcing me into South Africa Realm POE2 - XBOX Series X

Recently reset wifi network configuration and noticed that I'm being placed into SA realm. Unplayable due to ping (couldn't find a command, but estimating 300ms). Changing the gateway in the character select screen to Texas to force server placement does not work. What steps should I take to resolve?

Update: hard power cycle (held power button for 8 seconds, disconnected power cable for 5+ minutes) seems to have resolved the issue. I think the game was using out of date DNS settings to calculate where to place me. Hard power cycle refreshed the settings and quitting out of game then reopening it and I'm in Texas realm with minimal latency.
