PoE 2 makes me want to give PoE 1 Ruthless another go

Not particularly, having done plenty of ruthless, I'd rather play PoE2, it just feels a superior version of the concepts.

No it doesn't.

ruthless was quite fun till I got to maps. The map sustain gave me trauma flashbacks of early poe. PoE2 might take inspiration from ruthless but map sustain it's laughably easy comparatively.

After playing 135 hours I am thinking of playing other ARPGs again where the drops and crafting matter again and the marketplace was only for leveling.

Here, just as with PoE1 which I gave up around the same time, everything works around the marketplace at endgame.

I love everything else about the game but when you can't be self sustainable because the system is pushing you towards a chaotic marketplace, it quickly becomes tedious.
