PSA: Please don't pre-socket your gear intended exclusively for sale
As someone who spends more time purchasing things than selling them, let me be the guy to suggest that the purchaseability of a high end piece goes radically up if the sockets are left empty.
Although defaulting to stuffing iron runes in things is probably going to be correct to your customer at least a quarter of the time and place your item artificially higher by search parameters, there is also a pretty strong chance prospective customers may have in mind either resistance requirements that require a different rune, or soul cores for high-end performance scaling. How do you know if it's exclusively for sale or not? One can only assume otherwise.

" When you browse es chests by es amount, and every single one listed from 500 to 800 es is unliterally, without fail, socketed with iron runes, statistics dictate that not all of them were used. |

not really.
you are just basing off posted data, not real time usage data. new & clean un-socketed will always demand more, don't need a PSA when it's common business sense. While the snow remains,

" Your entire arguement is based on an assumption that you are correct. I therefore reject it as out of hand as it is presented. |

Not arguing? #facts (It matters not to me if it's accepted or not, but you choose to reply nevertheless)
It's funny u say this because this thread is 1 PHAT assumption. There are so many real world scenarios that mirror this. Yo tomorrow the sun be out please remember to take some sun lotion or wear some shades! Perhaps go touch some grass. Happy gate keeping. While the snow remains,

" Yes, it is an assumption. It is an assumption that of the many items posted, not all of them are used items, and that of those that have been posted exclusively as a sale item some of them have been pre-socketed to make them appear more appealing. I propose this is a reasonable assumption by shear volume, and therefore offer the idea to people thinking about how to post items that for the time being unsocketed items may be more appealing. Your counterpoint is "well actually the sample size is not right therefore my presumption is actually the correct one that nobody does that and all items were used". Essentially, "nuh-uh". Thats fine. I still dismiss it entirely as it is predicated on its own correctness. Thanks for the bumps though. I'm hoping the advice catches on. :) |
