Chaotic Freeze Support Gem Not Working with Contagion spell

I have the Chaotic Freeze support gem attached to my Contagion spell. There is no freez buildup from the choas damage over time. I've tested this for a good 20 minutes now.

" It doesn't say that the Chaos Damage over Time causes Freeze Buildup. It says Chaos Damage from Hits causes Freeze Buildup, while supported skills are dealing Chaos Damage over Time. |
