Couch co-op can't acend 3rd acendency poe2

My wife and I are playing couch co-op on poe2 and we are trying to do the third acendency trial and it's bugged to where it won't let us progress past the first floor this isn't the first time something like this happened either and it is kinda killing the game for us to be honest
