Unkillable Enemies that Self-Revive Endlessly
This is a very rare bug, but has been seen in both Trials and Maps where a previously killed enemy revives itself endlessly and will typically chase the player around the zone until line of sight is broken completely somehow.
The enemy is not being revived by a spell or another caster enemy. The enemy is not affected by any modifiers, and none indicating the self-revive should even happen, let alone be endless. This can happen for normal monsters without modifiers. When they revive, they can still damage and kill the player. I've seen this happen at higher tier maps, where enemies can be more lethal, and it has killed players during their runs. Typically the player will try to kite the enemy or run away as far as possible after killing them again. Last bumped on Jan 27, 2025, 2:13:10 AM

+1 I have linked a couple of videos with this exact issue. Mine were Chaos Zealots in maps (spider/forest biome I believe), and Hungering Stalkers (Cemetery Act 1 Cruel). IDK if it is location-specific, or tied to monster type...
I'm surprised your group could outrun them though, GG. I just leave the area whenever I encounter them. XD |

Thanks for the input, and funny enough the last time I saw this happen was in a pack of Zealot enemies, but I don't actually know what the name of the enemy is. It was in a T15 Map on Vaal Factory, and the Zealot was carrying a giant handcannon. That thing absolutely hurts and can kill in 1-2 shots if your life is not topped off. The fact that it remained basically unkillable made the whole Map attempt atrocious.
Outrunning monsters that have this bug is difficult. I've only been able to do it by sniping the monster from a far distance and sprinting away as fast as possible. Doesn't always work since they're usually always chasing. |

Happened to me now twice as well. Once on Seepage and once on a Forest map.
They can't be killed. Only way is to run away and try to avoid them (if possible). Really weird. And it's always been 4 monsters for me. Hope they can figure out what's causing this. Both times, mine had regenerate Life modifiers on them |

I've encountered this too. Just happened tonight.
The exact enemies don't matter, but a necromancer has to have been present and killed for this bug to present itself. I believe necromancer getting killed right as a respawn happens, so the respawn timer itself never gets disposed. In C# this would be a Timer that doesnt get disposed, so the Timer keeps emitted Elapsed event. Not sure what this POE2 is written in. |
