King of the Faridun armor doesnt activate on step skills

i have the Faridum armor wich is a cosmetic item but it doesnt trigger the on step skill on my boots, is it a bug or is it suppose to work that way? i find it weird since its just a cosmetic item it shouldnt affect on the gameplay, is it pay to lose then? will it also help me to not being affected by fire on the floor or something like that? anybody knows?
