please let us change ascendancies
I played my Ranger to 83 as Pathfinder and even though I did like it in the beginning I just don't want to play it anymore, I spent 60 hours on it and I really can't find the time to level another Ranger just to play another ascendency. Please respect the players time, it worked well in POE1 why can we not change it in POE2?

+1
There's really no good reason to do this, especially in EA which is supposed to be the time to really test all the builds |

I agree.
As a new player I fell into this trap and was unaware you weren't able to change it and wanted to try a new build for endgame. WELP guess what? GGG says nope you gotta reroll. Guess im not playing till thats implemented. good work guys! Last edited by popegodx#2225 on Jan 1, 2025, 4:28:11 PM

Really disapointed the patch 0.1.1 will not let us change ascendencies and with no good reason for it. They are fine that we need to google around and check up the ascendency online before commiting to it. It's VERY different at looking something online and actually playing it...

No thankyou. I am fine with ascendancies being a permanent choice. It adds weight to your character.

I actually like ascendency lock.
It makes me think the game has 3x the amount of classes it actually has, with its own theme etc. Unlocking swaps would remove that, I would no longer be Infernalist, just a witch that decided to cast some fire today. You can level a character and do the first trial within a day. |

So if I level a character each season I don't like I need to waste more time and more time onto leveling and bringing up new charachter of the same type just because I failed to discover on google my prefered playstyle. Just unbelivable and disrespectful to players time, I will always prefer freedom of choice.

I'd just wait for the next wipe to start a new character and wait for all the improvements. I wouldn't personally do that just because of how long the campaign takes but it likely would go faster the 2nd time around if you have gear for your alts.
Just like having load-outs and changing character classes, they likely have already stood that ground. But I do sympathize, I rolled a warrior and was a terrible experience to 90 compared to my pathfinder that is 87. If I did my math correctly, I already got my support pack price worth on the time spent and can save things later for when the game is out of EA. I'd recommend coming back when they redo a bunch of stuff and your class/ascendency may be better then. |

i like it to be locked, should be a decision a player has to make. but in early access it should be changable simply for testing things out.
