Poe2 level downscaling is very limiting

Me and my buddy decided to make another class after reaching endgame and our other friend didn't want to and when we turned off downscaling we didn't know at the time that it comes with a exp penalty(what i thing anyway) most likely to pervent power lvling and made it to act 3 before we looked and saw our character lvls are 12 below the recommended and it seems if your lvl 20 fighting lvl 32 33 enemies you don't get that much xp(cleared a map and got around 5%) so now me and my buddy are farming 2nd act to get lvls.

I understand not wanting people to power lvl but should be something in-game to tell you what the penalties are or maybe I'm blind and I never played poe1 co-op because my friends couldn't get into it so I'm guessing it's the same.

if there wasnt sufficient warning given by the devs that turning off powerscaling severely penalizes xp gain, this is something GGG needs to fix.

otherwise, just play the game downscaled.

the entire purpose of the campaign is for you to play the game, not skip it.

sidestory.

many years ago i got a friend into poe.

we helped him "power level" quickly getting to act 2 in no time using "new" characters. all he did was follow and gain xp.

little did we know he was actually quite pissed off.

he wanted to PLAY the game. so after he had his rant, he DELETED his character and went solo.

i do respect him for it.

poe2 is a very deliberate game by design. learn to enjoy it.

oh btw. poe2 "subforum" exists, you should post in there if you want to give feedback on poe2 specifically
