Sacrificial Heart Quest Issue when moving to Cruel Difficulty

If you still have the Sacrificial Heart item when transitioning into Cruel difficulty, it causes significant problems.

Here’s what happened:

I finished normal and took the gateway to cruel difficulty ending up at the riverbank
I then tried to return and complete the quest for the sacrificial heart to remove the item from my inventory.
I returned to the Ziggurat Encampment and attempted to re-enter the gateway to access the altar area.
Instead of entering the area, the gateway sent me back to the Ziggurat Encampment repeatedly.
Additional issues:

The waypoint portal in the encampment is now not lit up, not allowing me to fast travel anywhere
The map shows as if I am inside the portal area, but I am still in the encampment.
The only available option is to take the gateway back to the Riverbank Encampment, leaving me stuck with the Sacrificial Heart item until Act 3.
I cannot drop or stash the quest item


This issue makes progression frustrating and needs to be addressed. Please investigate and fix this as soon as possible.

I found a work around. If you take the portal and end up in the ziggarot encampment. Return to the character select screen then log in. You should find yourself in area past the portal

As soon as you complete act 3 and progress into Cruel or End Game it seems to mess a lot of things up. The time travling portal has completely disappeared on one of my characters now…so now I’m stuck with the poisons from the Venom Crypts in my inventory and Servi is m.i.a…also after progressing into end game, the Bog Witch won’t drop the skull from Cruel Act 3…so until it’s fixed my witch who relies heavily on spirit is bricked with 60 spirit with all gear un equipped. Seems as though the whole act transition is just clunky, hopefully due to it just looping you back to act one instead of progressing through the actual campaign when the game is released.
