GGG IS ACTIVLEY TRYING TO SLOW THE INGAME ECONOMY - STOP FIGHTING IT
High mana costs on skills - lower drop rates (rarity abusing aside) - more after death kill effects (i know u hate it but its for a reason) - slower attack times - keeping of an antiquated trade system. - long grinds (atlas) - 1 portal etc etc
This will be a hard pill to swallow for some - but so many of their decisions are super intentional and not what you wanted - they are and if not for the exploits and stupidly over performing builds trying to slow down the rate at which u progress - to uphold player retention. if you dont see this from the game and design philosophy welll...... Chis wilson has talked about players not liking a break from the status quo in interviews - some of your gripes can be chalked up to this. embrace it. But people wanted this. They were HYPED because GGG decided to slow the gameplay. Why don't you like the changes? They made what you asked! Has your HYPE gone?

POE 2 are for players who has the time to play the game for an average of 5 hours per day.
Any hours shorter than that - you are not the target audience of GGG. |

i do - im trying to highlight some design philosophies that ggg have baked into the game that i feel a large proportion of the the playerbase doesn't quite understand the implications off,
A lot of their design philosophies imo are to help create a longer standing economy and player retention - but players are seeing this as harsh gaming mechanics - its like half these motherfuckers never played morrowind never mind daggerfall. that shit did not hold you hand you gusy getting it easy and ggg is trying to clamp down on that -- embrace it |

" sometimes i log in for about 30 minutes in between my daily chores or if im off work and run a couple of maps - i bet i aint the only one doing this. broaden your thinking |

" Actually thats poe1. |

" This is the most delusional post I've seen yet. " I know you don't like these things but please trust me I know what's good and fun better than you do so you should like them" The only thing worse than your opinion about these stupid on death effects are the on stupid on death effects. |

" You know you can spread that 5 hours over 5 days right? There's checkpoints everywhere. |

" So they are making a miserable, unenjoyable slow experience to save the economy? Also this isn't really true. Campaign and early game maybe but beyond that it's no different than blasting maps in POE1. - The exp loss on death is basically ignorable until your pushing levels in the 90s. Then it's crazy punishing since pushing beyond like 93 means repeat running hundreds of T15/16 maps just to get 1-2% a map. - The currency drop rates made early game feel absolutely horrible while end game it rains currency like candy even without abusing MF. The campaign needs a leveling currency (like regal/exalted shards) that only work on gear up to a specific breakpoint. Give us something to use on leveling gear that doesn't impact the economy. - The high mana costs don't slow anything down they just make playing your character feel less enjoyable until you solve your mana issue through gear or passives. This is no different than D4 using builder/spenders, until eventually you don't need your builder and you just spam your spenders. Mana is hardly much different. - Mapping is just burning juiced T15/16s barely even looking at the modifiers because everything on the screen dies before it comes close to you. - Loot is just currency, maps and white/blue basetype drops that you haul home to waste that currency on. It's a mindless, boring crafting system attached to a mindless RNG atlas that has no player agency at all. There is nothing I am doing on the Atlas that in any way matters, it's just RNG nodes for the sake of RNG. I don't care at all what's happening on my Atlas because it simply does not impact my character or my account in any way. All this boils down to spam running Maps (like POE1) for currency tokens to roll on gear or use to trade others for rolled gear. Only the crafting system is so watered down it takes the fun out of even that. It's not a bad game, but it's nowhere close to whatever roguelike vision Chris was talking about with slow methodical gameplay. Also I never thought I would say this but POE2 has more RNG variance than Lost Ark lol. It really is just POE1 with a longer, less enjoyable campaign that I for the life of me couldn't see me coming back every couple months to repeat again, especially if the last 3 acts are as long and drawn out as the A3 Last edited by redrowen#7388 on Jan 3, 2025, 2:18:39 PM
