How does Golden "Rarity" charm work?

How does Golden "Rarity" charm work?

Does it activate BEFORE killing Rare/Unique so that 20% rarity counts toward that loot?

Or

Does it activate AFTER killing Rare/Unique for 1 sec, making it useless in this case?

I will quote some guy's comment on youtube "according to Empy, he asked devs and currently rarity charm applies AFTER killing rare only, making it useless outside of breach."

It's pretty clear when he says:
"Used when you kill a Rare or Unique enemy"!!, and consumes charges depending on item rolls.
For the next kill rare or unique, you must generate the necessary charges to activate it again.
I think the confusion is like this ...

it gives you the effect when you kill the enemy

I think op is trying to clarify, does it apply before the loot drops which is after the enemy dies or do you have like 1 second of extra rarity to kill other stuff to take advantage of the buff.

I would have to guess it should apply to the enemy you just killed otherwise it would be pretty useless?
Most of us who are using it are assuming that it was coded intelligently enough to apply its effect:

1) after the monster is defeated
2) before loot is generated as a result of that defeat
3) without its effect expiring before loot is generated

If all 3 of those are true, its effect will apply to the loot generated by a rare or unique monster that was just defeated.

If it was not coded in such a way as to make #2 true, its design was an incompetent one.

I have seen some cases where loot generation is delayed after monster is toast for a lot longer than ~1 second, so it is almost certainly the case that #3 above is not true in those rare cases.

Rationally, the effect should be queued up and trigger immediately prior to loot generation...but I don't trust that this is the case.

Again, read what charm says "Used when you kill a Rare or Unique enemy"
Btw, there is no statement in the game (arpg or similar) that loot drop BEFORE kill, it's always AFTER.
A monster is killed when it has zero life, then the charm activates and gives a rarity bonus.
The item from slain monster drop on the floor after 1-2-3 seconds is a pure animation, the effect has already been applied.
At least this is how I understand it.

Edit: It lasts one second, but it can be increased. This means that after activation (kill rare or unique), its effect lasts until it expires and applies to other kills in that interval (normal or magic monster too).

Are you saying that you just read it again, or are you instructing others to read it again? If the latter, why?

Isn't that common sense? Why would loot drop before the monster is defeated?

If that's true, that's good news in the rare cases where the loot is "presented" after an extended delay.
Since the duration is ~1 second, there is no reason whatsoever it wouldn't affect the loot from that rare mob. Would make it useless.

It's EA, we expect some stuff to be useless. With current wording, I understand: mob dies-> calculate loot -> trigger charm. It might be something like kill mob -> trigger charm -> mob dies -> calculate loot, but the wording should be different, something like "when dealing fatal damage to rare/unique enemies" or something.

I think they will re-word it in a future patch, to make it clear if it applies to the mob that triggered it, or not.
