windows 11 24H2

Hello,

I’ve been dealing with a frustrating issue in Path of Exile 2 after installing the latest Windows 11 update (24H2). While I can play the game without any major issues, I’m experiencing random freezes when loading into a new area or instance. During the loading screen, my entire PC freezes—everything becomes completely unresponsive, and I’m forced to perform a hard reset to get things working again. Just to note, my hardware is more than capable of handling this game, so this shouldn’t be an issue with performance.

This problem began immediately after the 24H2 update, and while it doesn’t occur every time I load into the game or load into a zone, it happens often enough to be a significant annoyance. It’s reached a point where I’m hesitant to play until this issue is addressed or resolved.

Please fix this

Well this problem is there since launch and nothing has been done.

Came here today to see if new fix been release but from your post i see that nothing has been done.

I stop playing so my CPU doesn't get burn. CPU goes rampage at 100% and freeze PCs.

Friend of mine had scrap his CPU so i stopped playing till they fixed it.

Solution 1:
Back to Windows 11 23H2 (clean install), works perfect with PoE 2.
24H2 is so buggy !

i did the same, roll back to 223H2 and it s working fine now

After Windows 24H2 update, game Crushes at load with 100% 8cores CPU utilisation.

The reason: HDR

Game works with:
SYSTEM Setting > Display > Grathics > Turn OFF HDR.


On 23H1 All was good at any setting.

UPDATE

Removing Windows GameBar looks like a solution..for win 11 24h2
3 Days... No crushing... 2 times was high CPU load.. during location loading.. but no crush...



Powershell as administrator:
Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay | Remove-AppxPackage

HDR from my previus post .. have no effect on stability.. just 2 times was lucky after changing that option.

My 2 cents: I bought a new computer, AMD based, midrange. Everything was going great until Windows 24H2 rolled out. I was not experiencing what people above have stated, however my issue was that my PoE would freeze when alt-tabbing anything. The process couldn't be killed and I had to restart the computer afterwards to bring it back to usable state. Task manager was stuck at an infinite loop. Not much of a CPU utilization.

Other than that every other game would not start beyond the initial black screen (Witcher 3, Batman Arkham Knight tested).
The thing is, this would only happen on my 7900GRE dGPU. Everything worked (though unplayable) on iGPU. It's been almost 2 months since I opened a support case for GPU and rolled back the Windows update and everything works fine.
