The key isnt applicable to your account

Hello,

so my PoE2-journey started on 28dec2024. I bought a Key from a 3rd party site for around 20 Euros. If it would have been possible to buy a key for around 25 Euros via Paysafecard, I would have chosen the original store from PoE2.

So, the key didn´t work. After around a week a got a refund and I bought another key which was invalid again. The seller told me their keys are valid, the problem must be somewhere else.

Meanwhile the support from PoE2 answered me and suggested to buy a key from their shop.

At this point, after writing with the support (3rd party-site) for almost two weeks and sending screenshots back and forth, I was tired and bought a support pack at the original Shop from PaE2.

At this point I already downloaded the 86 gigs via steam and also with the separate launcher.

Happy, that I would be finally able to play the game, although I invested around 75 Euros after all, I clicked on Shop and Redeem code.

Ok, maybe I can enter this new code somewhere on the separate launcher, I thought. So I duobleclicked on the icon and it started a small patch. Cool, i can wait a moment.. no prob. Then it started to download the whole game again (86gigs, around 10 hours at my speed). It´s not verifying the data, it´s downloading the whole thsing again.

I´m starting to think, maybe I am the problem. Maybe I´m stupid and doing something wrong? I can´t enter a new key for steam, it says I already have the game. So this should be fine. The only other place I can redeem the code is on the shop. I checked, that I didn´t copy the wrong code. So, it should work? But as I wrote before, the result is

"The key isn´t applicable to your account"

I really hope the game is fun at least after all this waiting.

Also, I don´t want to link my steam-account. I´m just not a big fan of all this account-linking. Is it mandatory for the game to work when I want to play via Steam?

Also2, please send help.

Yes, in theory I should be able to play. Not sure, what I´m doing wrong.

My account says with the green font I´m allowed to log in and play during early etc

(I claimed the Steam key. The epic key is untouched.)

After I launch the game on steam and the following login-screen where it says log in via steam, I get the message: ~ You don´t have access and need to buy a key.

Not sure where the problem could be.

Is there a way to let the launcher know, that I already downloaded the 86 gigs? I´m not talking about steam. I downloaded both versions.

And today there must have been a patch or something, but it can´t be the goal that I have to download the whole 86 gigs again? As I said before, the client isn´t validating the files, it seems it is downloading the whole game again.
