Trial of Sekhemas - Energy Shield not restored on removing affliction

Multiple things going on:

1) I got the affliction "You have no energy shield" - my client still showed the energy shield but I knew it was gone. Infernal Flame operated off my max life only. After clearing the next boss and "zoning" into the next set of trials, my energy shield was removed as expected and I only had life.

2) I removed the affliction "You have no energy shield", client didn't update as expected. I only showed life, but my max honor increased to 9,900 because my energy shield was returned. However, Infernal Flame operated off my 8,000 energy shield, and instantly killed me as if I had no energy shield, bricking my run and eating my Omen of Amelioration.
