Respecing Ascendancy points can remove and lock support gems (Unbound Avatar)

Can no longer access my support gems for Unbound Avatar. Decided to give Meditation a try. It's working nicely but I can't get my support gems back. They've just vanished and respeccing avatar again gives me a fresh instance with no support gems in it.
