Act 3 Feedback
|
Having now played through act 1-3 both normal and cruel difficulty on 4 characters I feel like act 3 needs some work.
The layouts are way to huge and often leads to dead ends. The whole act just feels like a dead end walking simulator with not much to do. The lack of checkpoints and random layout generation makes this even worse. The River Hags in act 3 normal felt awful when playing melee and their HP feels overtuned as they can take much more damage than the rest of the trash mobs. Not looking forward to do act 3 every season in this state. Last bumped on Dec 17, 2025, 8:22:00 PM

I feel the same. Worst act by far. I like the visuals.. areas are cool looking but there's so much stupid stuff going on. Huge areas.. lots of dead ends.
Pulling the levers is pointless.. too much of them. Does someone think it's fun to pull a lever and wait while the guy is pulling it? Does someone think it's fun to find soul cores in a huge maze and finally realizing the last one you need is in some corner of a room you missed in beginning? The River Hag is the one of the worst enemies in the game i think. Way too strong as a trash mob.. overtuned HP, freeze and evade mechanic all combined. I have played 6 characters to end game and act3 always feels exhausting. It sure helps to know what you are doing and have some clue where is the next area but still it is too much. Needs work. |

Loving the game so far, hope it stays on the harder and slower than poe 1 end of things, I don't have issues with the river hag (kill them quickly though!) or any of that, however the time mechanic in act 3 is quite painful, past present closed waypoint all that is so very annoying. I realized on stepping into cruel difficulty I hadn't used my sacirifical heart, okay I'll hop back to aggorat. Nope. the waypoint is down and the time travel gateway takes you to the beach act 1 cruel, I guess I have to walk through the areas again? am I missing something here?
I found this on a reddit forum. eliaz • 1mo ago • Edited 1mo ago the way i was able to do this was like this (you only have one shot or it will enter a loop and you will have to start over again): log in 1- TP from cruel river back to town. Use te way point and go back to act 3, Ziggurat 2- from town go down to the drowned city 3- From drowned city use the WP and go to Ziggurat again, you will now spwan on the other side of the portal 4 - go down, enter utzaal 5 - use the WP and travel to Aggorat, find the altar and end the quest. (Do not TP to town before you do the quest or you will have to restart everything) hope it helps |

+1
I find the act to be very boring and a drag to go though. Plus I still very much hate the path through the dam. Its pretty in places yes, and then its so nasty in other areas. Its a dark and brutal game, but those zones just suck to look at and I tune them out. Just walk forward and kill. I think shrinking the zones would help. I don't imagine GGG would over hall the act. To me its act 4 due to story, player choice and aesthetic, act 2 due to story but still has huge zones, Act 1 for simple pathing and its a good first act, then act 3... Nature zones are nice. Even if the story is cool, the fact that you have to run the same city/temple twice just once in present and once in past feels like backtracking and it hurts. |
