Compensation for Hacked Accounts

During today's live stream, it was confirmed that the recent wave of account hacking originated from GGG's side. With this in mind, I'd like to respectfully request compensation for the players who were affected by this issue (including myself).

Over the past few weeks, many of us have experienced significant distress: accounts were 'hacked', with characters stripped of gear and stash items, coupled with the fear of personal compromise of emails/steam accounts.

Some of us were even victim-blamed for installing "malicious PDF files", and others were locked out of their accounts for more than 20 days simply for reporting the incident, missing access to early content they had paid for. Additionally, we were misinformed by forums staff member that the security measures were fully intact, leaving us feeling compelled to remain silent to avoid further account locks.

I believe a gesture of goodwill is warranted, whether through the restoration of lost items using the previously mentioned "restoration tool" https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2253250 or by offering compensation in the form of MTX (I would personally love a second celestial cat pet).

Such actions would greatly help restore trust and demonstrate genuine care for the community, particularly for the loyal players who have supported the game.

Fully agreed. People tell us to change passwords and blame it on us, But problem was on GGG side. Also my main account still locked since dec19 and no answer, I think they keep collecting infromation about hacked people and dont asnwer.

To recap my experience: My account was compromised on 26th December 2024 and locked on 27th December 2024 to prevent further damage. I was locked out for two weeks, during which I was accused of using RMT or malicious software. After two weeks, I was finally able to unlock my account—a process that took only three hours once it began.

Upon logging back in, I managed to regear my character enough to solo Trials of Sekhema after selling some leftover items. A few runs later, I got lucky with "The Last Flame" drop from Zarokh, allowing me to regear to about 80-85% of where I was before the compromise.

Looking back, contacting support only added damage. Had I not reported the compromise, I could have continued playing during those two weeks, potentially regearing myself sooner and avoiding the frustration of a lengthy lockout.
