BLEED DOESNT GO TROUGH ENERGY SHIELD IS A BUG?!
I am warching the vod of the interview and patchnotes (great work!), my build is MERCENARY BLEED.
I CAN ASSURE YOU ON THE NAME OF MY MOTHER, BLEED READS "only applies if the hit damages life". SO YES, BLEED DAMAGE BYPASSES ENERGY SHIELD, YOU JUST CANT APPLY IT AGAINST ENEMIES WITH ENERGY SHIELD, EVER. Right now grab a mercenary, give it all bleed nodes and go to the dark chambers where EVERY ENEMY IS A ROBOT WITH ENERGY SHIELD. This is a bug? I thought it was a shitty feature to introduce like "an equivalent to bleed resistance", just that so many enemies have it its overtuned THATS WHY ITS ON THE WITCHHUNTER!? YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BYPASS THE SHIELD THUS KILLING WITCHES EASIER? Look, right now the witchhunter KILLS WITCHES WORSE. Decimating strike (first hit does 5-35% of enemy health) does HEALTH DAMAGE. So enemies with energy shield, you know, witches, RECEIVE LESS DAMAGE BY BOTH DECIMATING AND CULLING STRIKE. AND THEN BLEED DOES NOT BYPASS IT. I thought this was just badly implemented flavor, like, for the whole month, has witchhunter played against what it was supposed to do? I've watched the interview as well, and... it's not that simple. It can't be just bugged because:
1. It works in-line with the in-game tooltip: "Physical damage from Hits Contributes to Bleeding Magnitude. Only damage dealt to Life will Contribute to Bleeding". 2. CI (or LL ES) builds would be insta killed if you could be bled off the hit to ES. And at the time it's super weird that bleeding-based builds are struggling to break through ES, considering it's supposed to be an anti-mage tool. I guess it's possible for GGG to separate how bleeding works against players and monsters. Several mechanics already work differently depending on the "side". |

If lets say they make it so bleed can apply on energy shield. I believe CI should be moved to a unique item. That also gives bleed resistance. CI is such a powerful tool in the game currently and the builds would be bricked with a change. Unless bleed immunity or bleed doesn't go through energy shield is introduced as a side add on to CI it will ultimately be unplayable at high levels unless charmed up

" I agree with everything you said. My point was that its a bug as long as its not working as intended by the interview. I also believe that it cannot be made to cut trough ES to players at least at the current state of the Early access, and I think the only solution is assimetry: can be applied to ES to monsters but not to player. There aren't that many interesting bleed enemis anyways. |
