Getting timed out when trying to run maps

Was no issue a couple days ago but today both maps I've tried to start, both tier 1, one with no mods, in necro settlers, have kicked me without consuming a portal when I tried to join. I tried joining from all three places, after starting from guild hideout, and then tried starting from karui shores instead and that didn't help either.
When friend tried to join, he briefly had the text that he went into the area, but also didn't spend any portal, and also got kicked.

Same issue here. Half of my maps are duds that me and my friends can't enter, I've tried every troubleshooting procedure I could find related to this and none worked. I'd at least like to know why this happens.
