Punishing returns idea. XP and portals
I just watched the stream with DM and Ghazzy and one topic was the XP and having only one attempt. I was thinking of a trade off on the punishing returns for dying.
Idea: - All XP earned goes into a "pool", you complete the map, you gain XP earned as you would normally. If you fail, you do not earn the XP that was occurred during that map. - If failed, you can attempt the map with the modifiers again with the remaining portals, but you do not earn XP for the completion of that map. - Apply a penalty to rarity of items found to complete the map. Something like 90% to what rarity of items we might already have if we have any at all. If we have no rarity of items on mods and/or gear, it shouldn't go negative. This would reset if a new map is opened up or the current one we died in is completed. This would prevent wiping XP progress you already made, but prevent you gaining progress for dying. So it doesn't seem one death cost us time in running multiple maps of XP we have to make up for. It's very frustrating to have to lose out XP, the map, and additional time to make up for dying. There are many factors of dying that goes into play, AOE we wasn't able to see, on deaths effects, lag, etc. Also aware of player mistakes as well. There is no feedback in place to provide us how we exactly died so we can use it as a learning tool. So I honestly think this trade off can be a WIN / WIN. Last bumped on Jan 12, 2025, 9:16:15 PM

" Yeah, I wish. The problem is they hate us and love logout macros. I am responding to bump this though because its a fun a idea. |
