Casual Player Feedback After My First Character

These thoughts are in no particular order—I just jotted them down in my notes app as I played through the game with my first character! Now that I’m on my second character, I figured I’d share some feedback as a pretty casual player playing on PC and Steam Deck.

1. Ground-based attacks are tough to see. This stood out to me first during the Executioner’s skydive and the Act 1 final boss’s skydive. It felt like a recurring issue throughout the campaign and into maps. These attacks are often the most dangerous, but the visual cues are hard to pick up on.
2. The world map is gorgeous, but it’s slow and confusing. For some reason, the in-game world map takes a long time to load, which is frustrating. On top of that, it’s not very intuitive when it comes to bonus areas and objectives. I missed quite a few things early on and had to backtrack after realizing how important some of those objectives actually are.
3. Act 3 portal QoL issue:
Spoiler
After opening the time portal, please let us portal directly back to the encampment. Having to go through two portals just to identify and sell items is really inconvenient and interrupts the flow.

4. The buying/selling system needs an overhaul. Now that I’m in maps and trying to trade, the process feels like a total mess. Having to use a separate website to find items, message people who might not respond, deal with rude players, language barriers, and lowballers—it’s just exhausting. Honestly, it makes SSF seem appealing because I’d rather avoid this system altogether.

Overall, these are pretty minor concerns (aside from the auction system, which I really think should be implemented before 1.0). I’m absolutely loving the game so far and can’t wait to see what’s next. I’m especially excited for the upcoming additional classes, weapons, and gems to bring even more build diversity and creativity!

GGG, thank you for making such an incredible game!

Johnathan, has nothing to say according to the Tavern Talk today on an Auction House.
This has been something people have wanted since the start of POE and they most likely will never put it in for items, ever.

I wonder if they can just tweaks abd crafting to the point where trading is a nice-to-have and not a necessity. I do SSF because I don't care for trading, but progress is a lot more uneven than I'd like.

It seems like the system is mostly there already. If they’d just automate the process of buying off the website that would make it infinitely better. You’d think with the idea of POE2 being more new-player friendly they’d focus on the trade experience.
