Dying in maps is not punishing enough
As the title says. Dying in maps doesn't feel punishing enough. In addition to losing the map, any items on the ground, and 10% exp. You should also drop your entire inventory. Maybe even drop one random equip item or jewel from your character. Lose 10% of your total gold too.
I know Johnathan said in the dev video they will be making volatiles more visible, but they shouldn't. I love waiting 5-10 seconds after every pack of monsters sitting on my hands making sure nothing will randomly explode. Waiting for volatiles is good for slowing down the flow of combat. I totally agree. And thankfully, so do the developers. Which is why they implemented a longstanding classic feature of diablo-like ARPGs - the Hardcore mode. For players like you.
Maybe you missed it. You can actually select it on the character creation screen. You can even go solo selffound for that little extra-challenge, you know. To make you feel special. I think you misunderstood my post. I don't want to lose all my progress and my character. I just want to be punished 2-4 hours of my time.

this is probably some rage bait but I genuinely think all items in inventory should be lost upon death

I think PoE police should come to your house and slap you for every death.
Also on hardcore one should loose the account everytime a char dies. |
