Poe 2 League migration

I have an SSF character that I want to make into a standard character but the league migration button doesn't seem to be working. I'm new to the game and thought I HAD to make an SSF character since Standard SSF and Hardcore SSF were the only 2 options. I wasn't too worried about it because it said "You can convert it back to a regular character at any time." Im almost lvl 40 now and am trying to play with my brothers but because of the league migration issue, I can't. This is unfortunate because I mainly got the game so we can do something together. Do we know if this is being worked on and when it might be fixed or do I just make a new character?
