Customisable Portal numbers in any encounter - POE 2

Previously today,the developers stated the importance of death in the game and thus the importance of only having a single portal. I agree with the idea of death being important aswell,it should be,and thus I would like to make a suggestion regarding the number of portals and how they could influence gameplay.
The suggestion would be as follows: allow the player to pick the number of portals they wish to have in any encounter (be it a boss or map or any other kind),it can be done with modifiers on map type items or with a small UI setting before proceeding into the encounter.A lower number of portals could increase the drops of certain items,or even special uniques in boss encounters,while a higher number of portals could lower the received loot.
In this way the game would be accessible to everyone,to someone that came from work and just wants to blast maps and listen to music or to someone that worked longer on their gear and wants to test their mettle.
I believe that would make choosing to only have one portal exciting and something some of the players will aspire towards,even the players that choose more entries would eventually look forward to gearing enough to succeed one portal encounters.
I think this would remove the feeling of punishment the one portal idea brings and replace it with excitement and also expand on the horizons of the game by broadening the audience,while also keeping the importance of death.

Either they give us more portals or they remove the experience penalty, cos there's punishing and then there's.. this game.

Liked the acts, got to maps and it's just boring to me, the promise of slower combat and more tactical gameplay with big spectacle boss fight fly out the window when one mistake can wipe out hours of progress when all i want is to try out a new thing but really can't cos one bad roll or whathaveyou and it's all gone.
I think the experience loss could be adressed in a similar way aswell : risk of more experience lost=more loots and less experience loss=less loot.
They should at least add 1 portal per extra party member for the multiplayer folks.

Or even it being kept strictly related to experience,like : risk of more experience loss=more experience gained,less experience loss/no experience loss=less gained experience. In this way players can choose to either level up slow and steadily or quicker and riskier. All in the hands of the player. I think that would be fair.
I'd rather they just apply penalties on each death.
Normally for solo I'm ok with 1 portal but I prefer coop and this 1 death no rez endgame is just a giant kick in the balls...
death is important. if I die I wasted 2 hours or more of experience gain in the mid 90s. that's a huge chunk. Losing the map, and all the juice, and everything laying on the ground because picking shit up is the most dangerous boss in this game... far too much. 1 portal is a horrible game design choice that promotes NOT interacting with mechanics. The exact opposite of what they should be wanting players to do.

Make me pay 200k gold to get another portal maybe but one and done is abysmal game design.

Yeah all the losses you are mentioning make death not just "important",they just make all of it feel like a waste of time,no longer fun anymore.And I am saying that while being a player that strongly believes that Path of Exile does respect your time.One portal deaths,however,just throw dirt at that idea.
