Using the CORRECT Path of Exile Wiki (Feel free to provide input here)

*Intro/Summary*

Hey all, so after 5 years of playing POE, I still have this issue sometimes where when I'm googling something and the POE wiki pops up, unfortunately the other wiki is always on top, I assume over time and social awareness this will change. My goal is to optimize this process for myself as other people, as I feel like (I may be wrong here) but if we as a collective community also use the proper site, over time it will naturally become the highest result.

*Goal*

Re-direct myself to the proper wiki if the "Fantom wiki" we will just call it that, is selected. (We want to minimize as much traffic to that site as humanly possible)

I did find a JavaScript bookmarklet that seems to work if it is clicked.

Here is a step by step overview of this process.

1. Installing the bookmarklet

Copy and paste the JavaScript code below into a new bookmark, name it something useful. (Please review the code for yourself, there is nothing malicious about this, it is a simply JavaScript code. However, always be cautious and do your own research before doing this kind of stuff just to be safe!)

2. Running the bookmarklet

Open a new page, window, tab, etc. and click the bookmarklet you just created in the previous step.

You should see "Poe wiki" in the search bar change to site:poewiki.net

Other notes: There is also a browser extension for the POE wiki itself which is nice as it allows you to hit ALT+W to bring up a search window, basically removing the need for google at all.

Here is a link to the wiki search extension, I am not sure if it was made by the people who made the wiki or not, but I will just leave a link here that shows the reviews and all of that.

There's also a Chrome extension that automatically redirects you from the Fandom wiki to the official one and optionally removes links to the Fandom site from Google search results, seems to work pretty well.

I used my addblocker to block fextralife and Fandom wikis forever. Been a huge benefit.

Good stuff, this is what I was hoping this thread would involve into.

I'm using uBlacklist to ban Fandom and Fextralife from my browser searches, no need to redirect to the official wiki if its the only one showing.

I read somewhere that the redirect extension still counts as a click metric in google for the wrong wiki.
