Jonathan & Mark, the reason people aren't spending their Divines on rerolling unique -> Vaal orbs.

In short: Vaal orbs have created a pseudo new highest tier for modifiers to roll on uniques, that isn't achievable through divine orb rolling, thus devaluated the strength of using a divine orb on almost all uniques.

Longer explanation:
In the new updated vaal interaction you've created for uniques, where it has a chance to go up or down 20% in stats for modifiers, you've indirectly created an environment, where most uniques only gain REAL value from being borderline useless, if you hit a good corruption of said modifiers.

The "problem" here is that hitting this action from a Vaal orb, also "divines" the item before applying the new values. This ultimately means that in the ONLY case where 99% of uniques are valuable, divining them beforehand is pointless, since they will almost always only get real value if you hit those additional +20%~ to a unique.

This has meant that unlike before, where the valuable modifiers was achievable through slamming divines on it, instead now the desired outcomes of a divine orb on the item, is technically only ever reached via a vaal orb corruption. This in particular is detrimental for trade leagues, because there is so much access to vaal'd uniques, that even a well rolled unique almost always loses complete value, because only the corrupted mod matters.

Of course there are exceptions to this in chase uniques that are valuable regardless like Ingenuity, where the item in itself is actually just really good and so meta that it keeps value even outside of having the corrupted higher mod.

So for trade leagues, people simply hoard divines instead of using them for almost all things.

In case you're not aware. The option for corrupting the mod on uniques that goes up or down 20%~ divines the item first, rerolling automatically the value. And since this is the desired result for almost all cases of what makes uniques valuable, this automatically means that divning the item first is pointless, since it will always get rerolled if you actually reach the +- 20% vaal outcome.

I recommend looking up the wiki on how vaal works instead of insulting me.
Also, most people don't have divines and if they find one, they won't waste them by slamming them on an item.

Right, but this was primarily in response to the value of divines inflating evermore as talked about in the interview yesterday. This left them wondering why - if there are constantly MORE divines in the pool, but they are also inflating in value, its because they aren't being used to reroll with, but only as a trading currency.

But for instance even if you had 100+ divines and was fine through 1-3 divines away on trying to get a much better roll on a unique, the fact still stands that A) You're likely be better off saving those divines for simply helping you buy the corrupted mod version instead and

B) since vaaling the unique for the desired outcome of hitting higher mod values than possible in the unique always comes with the item also being divine'd in that process, pre-divning the item only matters if you want "miss" on getting this desired result, at which point the uniques value drops like crazy.

The League has been going for over 5 weeks most people are making multiple divines a day comfortably and there are people spending thousands of divs on mirror crafting.

This post is very accurate there's still a ton of people who don't understand this and keep vaaling their 75% ingenuity belts thinking they need it to hit max stats
