Interview VTubers Some Time?
Probably a pipe dream, but POE2 has had more draw with the non-ARPG community more than ever, yet somehow GGG still keeps doing interviews and hearing POVs from ARPG-lifers only. Doesn't make any sense to me. Wasn't one of the design goals of POE2 to broaden its mainstream appeal? Then why is GGG ignoring a massive community that's now interested in what POE2 has to offer?
One community I've been paying particular attention to is the VTubers. I've noticed livers from 3 of the biggest VTuber agencies (Hololive, VShojo, Nijisanji) play. Some reasons GGG may want to capitalise on this by giving these livers and their audience some attention. 1. Livers from any of them easily draw a larger audience each than POE streamers except Quin. The livers' audiences also don't overlap with the POE1 audience that much. At the time of this post, Kanae (7k viewers, Twitch) and Kuzuha (15k viewers, Youtube) from Nijisanji were streaming. 2. Livers play experience is much closer to mainstream gamers'/casuals' experience, as most of them are variety streamers and don't specialise in one game/genre, even if they are consistently good gamers. GGG can get a different perspective from them compared to ARPG streamers. This is not to say they are bad players. Kanae and Kuzuha above are able to sustain high-tier maps as far as I know. 3. I think some of these livers have influence within their own communities/agencies. Kaela and Bijou (Hololive) were grinding POE2 earlier during EA and recently Ina (Hololive) was willing to try. Kaela is basically a gaming ambassador for Hololive. It would be really nice if GGG could get these livers on board to be recurring customers at each new league. (More livers streaming POE2 would also help people like me who've gotten sick and tired of ALL the main ARPG streamers) Last bumped on Jan 13, 2025, 10:18:55 AM
