Ideas for minion being blocked in doorways.
I've recently made a minion-mancer and now understand the pain behind the minions getting blocked, like - "where are all my minions?"- while i dodge around, running out of range so they de-spawn and spawn at my location again.
They've talked about the spawn rate when you run out of range so that's good. GGG says they don't have a great solution for the body-blocking in narrow doorways yet, so here's my ideas. 1 - Convocation. Give us convocation back with a longer cooldown, you can even give it a short cast time. Give it like 30-60 seconds cd and let us teleport the minions to us, i understand that they don't want another poe1 scenario where you have convocation on auto run and teleport your minions to you every 2 seconds, but come on. 2 - Phasing move command. Make it so that your move command makes your minions momentarily phase through each other, dis-allowing them to attack anything unless they're done performing the said "move command", so you can manually move them through narrow pathways without abusing it to stack minions on monsters allowing them to attack. Remove minion collision momentarily and add it back = winwin. (again they could add cooldown if need be.) 3 - phasing near doorways. An intricate system, that can detect when your minions are blocked in areas near narrow paths, that then informs the server to make minions capable of running through each other. Criteria for this to be aplicable is that there should never be enemy monsters in melee range of your minions, this effectively does so your minions don't phase around unless they're blocked and never around enemy monsters. 4 - Auto de-summon & re-summon. Another inticate system that tells the server when your minions are blocked to de-summoning them and then later re-summon them around you. A counter meassure to not make this abuse-able, would be to add an animation of the minions fall apart where they de-summon and then materialize or burrow through the ground. This again effectively fixes the problem, so that they don't instantly teleport to you, ready to fight. This is obviously harder to make, but it should be do-able. Many regards me :) Last edited by Ferablekeft#0586 on Jan 13, 2025, 12:32:18 PM Last bumped on Jan 13, 2025, 12:31:36 PM
