3 Things I thought about after A1

My Background:

Been playing ARPG's since D1 as a kid:

Never played any souls-likes.

Casual with a Hardcore heart.

Finished A1 as the witch, went heavy with Chaos damage / Minions Meat Shields

Keyboard / Mouse Player

WASD doesn't feel appropriate when you have a large spell rotation, point and clicking free's up mental focus in the left hand to hit combos better.

1. Combat has been difficult to get used to for me. The auto moving behavior feels necessary, because of how much the game appears to be balanced on some amount of dodge / active evasion gameplay, but it's been unreliable as to where I'm targetting. My cursor will point to one location, but a ground target spell will proc in a completely unexpected location. Like the game has trouble tracking exactly where my cursor is in high twitch scenarios.

2. The boss fights have been fun, but for all the effort that went into killing the A1 boss, I got 2 rares that I couldn't even use, so my reward was shards and gold, it did not feel very rewarding especially for how much intense/engaging it felt.

3. Leveling feels so separate from abilities. The Tree provides a lot of bonuses, but I was excited to invest into a specific ability path and it felt like every level I earned didn't contribute to that, I was relying on RNG for uncut skill gems and that doesn't feel great to me.

The overall experience has been fun.
