Sprint Button
It's tedious when you've cleared most of the enemies in a map and end up walking around searching the map for just one of two small interaction points. It'd nice if you could have a sprint that only works outside of combat. That way we can't just zoom past mobs/run away when we get swarmed but can still move kinda fast around the map after enemies are dead. We already sort of have this movement with teleporting between checkpoints, but if I'm looking for is next to a checkpoint I missed then I'm stuck slowly walking over there.
Being in early access, I think this is a good time to try out new stuff, and if it doesn't work, get rid of those things. A concern in making POE2 was reducing the speed of the game and therefore slowing down character speeds. I don't think a sprint button would change the speed of clearing maps, only change the speed of exploring each nook and cranny of a map since it could be made to only work outside of combat (only available when no enemies are aggro'd for instance). And hey, you could say you are trying to make it more like dark souls since dark souls has a sprint button. I'm curious what other people would think of this change Last bumped on Jan 13, 2025, 6:13:09 PM

Uae search feature. Sprint button concept is abhorrent.

" cmon, all you need is some type of resource to manage the duration of sprint. like a stamina indicator. then you could make some items that refill it if you need to run far. and to make sure you dont use it in combat they could reduce your defences to 0 when running, this would even play well with D&D attack of opportunity mechanic. what could possibly go wrong with that |

Sprint existed in POE 1 via quicksilver flasks and was annoying so no thanks

Damn, this all sounds novel.
I think stamina is a cool concept. Anything to make movement faster really. But we would need some kind of stamina potion, I guess? Likely there will be more movement skills added though. Oh well, this is early access and we get what we get. 2 things we need are patience and understanding. |

I think a sprint button is a great idea.

What about a button that has to be mashed like in Track & Field?
The faster you mash, the faster you go! I have a feeling I'm going to be recruited by GGG with this brilliant idea! |

" make it two buttons and you have to alternate them to gain speed over time, if you mess up your character trips over |
|
" It's brilliant! xD |
