Force player lower Map tier instead of removing the modifiers
From your stream, you want to help player realize they are not at the correct strength lvl when they die and death should matter and be harsh.
Removing the events is a lot of frustration as it removes the fun of the map, but does not really cost me anything. I propose following concept as the an idea/inspiration to replace the "you loose all the fun stuff": When a player dies, he loses the map just like now. But all the events and modifiers stay the same, but now a new modifier appears (and maybe for all the connected as well ? to make it harsher?): Can only socket tX or lower where X ist the tier that was died on -N, and i think N could be random from 1 to 4 or something like that.
