Item went missing after trade

So I was trading a 2 handed item with a player and I didnt have space in my inventory the trade went through the guy got my currency but the item disappeared. I dont know if it got destroyed since items dropped in hideout gets destroyed autaticaly. But apperantly he doesnt have the item only my currency. Ive been playing for some years now but this has never happened to me. Im not too fustrated about it since its was not an expensive piece of gear , but maybe if it happens with a more valuable item people would be fustrated. Might be good to look into it.

this just happened to me. Not particularly happy about it. only lost 1ex thankfully

Same thing happened to me just now. Paid 5 div for a two handed mace and turns out I didn't have enough space in inventory. The item simply vanished but the guy received the currency. Wth
