Ornate strongbox not opening

Just put a regal in an ornate box (with 11 packs of monsters), clicked on it and a few (5 or 6) monsters appeared in a smoke. After killing them, no other monsters appeared and the box remains locked upon clicking on it.

It happened a second time. Both strongboxes remained stuck in "locked" in crypt map.
