trade exploit or bug?

I was trying to buy a Morior Invictus and went to trade with someone. The item they offered had stats and elemental resistances.he placed his item and then I placed my Divine Orb as payment and carefully checked the stats. However, my game experienced a brief millisecond of lag, and i accept the trade and trade was was completed.
The item I received wasn’t the same as the one I had checked. Normally, if the seller replaces the item during the trade, the game should prompt me to review it again, but this didn’t happen.
This wasn’t a case of carelessness—I’ve completed over 1,000 trades in this game and know how to double-check everything. I stayed in the seller’s hideout to warn other players about the issue.

Yeah, go ahead and tell me if it was a scam and my own fault.
Do you know the function of trading? If anyone changes the item, the game asks you to check it again, but it didn't do that for me.
