Would whale accept that GGG kill poe 1 and just port the campaign to 2

Since they say January may announce 3.26 and then actually not, and poe 2 will get new league first. Based on the success (by player number) of poe 2 , it seems GGG is focusing in poe 2 in full team and not even a skeleton crew for 1.

So, will whale still support the game by buying new packs, if GGG abandoned the old poe 1 entirely, and just port the 1 campaign to 2, as a mean to unlock the old 6 classes as well as "faster" (i doubt it in Ruthless setting) to end game, and only end game of 2 is retained, unless they have time to also port some boss fight to 2?
