Stuck in Devourer fight ( act 1 second run)

I have been playing couch coop, and my character (warrior) could not move or do moves just spin in s circle for about 45 seconds. this was in a mud like pit the worm had made. I had control ( not cc'ed) but was locked in place and could barely use moves for about 30 seconds. Eventually it seemed to wiggle out of the stick.
