PoE 1 carryover to POE 2

Hi PoE enthusiasts,

I am seeing contradicting information on what (if anything) carries over from PoE 1 to PoE 2. Does anything (like Mtx) transfer?

Secondly, I played PoE 1 through GGG's launcher. I got PoE 2 through steam. If I link my accounts will it still work?
