Rage: controller interaction to grab objects on the ground is a scandal

If I am standing on top of a div with a party of randoms and I press A, I want to grab the div, I don't want to melee some imaginary undead squirrel half a screen away.

This is ruining playing with random people. I run short allocation because I want people to be able to grab what they want. This is not supposed to be just to give some PC-using moron time to come click the item while I try to make the fucking controller work.


Can't figure out how? Add medium allocation. Or let high value items be rolled like in WoW.

What worked for me was not assigning any skill to the 'A' button, so it only works for interactions. I haven't had any problems since then.

I do the same on on PS5, X button I unassigned it to not use any skills and for the most part I have no issues picking up loot with enemies around.
Another example where this is especially clobbered is with shrines.. you must kill all mobs around the shrine before it will target the shrine for interacting.

I'm sure the breaking of the ability to review mod tiers + mod tags is covered in another several threads, but that has been en-worsened with the latest 0.1.1 patch.

On controller I assign Interact on the second hotbar on A. Then in combat I can quickly hit LT+A to pick up loot. Once you are used to it, it's fine.
